Breaking the Campus Ice | Welcome Freshers!

Starting college is one of the biggest transitions in one’s life. It’s not only in terms of age but also in terms of many other things such as academics, maturity, independence, confidence and readiness. Following are few of the tips which would help ease you and prepare you on how to cope up for the big change.

1. Attend Your Classes Regularly - Many of us are born with a preconception that starting college gives you a legal right to bunk classes. This would not only hinder your academics but also act as a hurdle while gelling up with teachers and classmates

2. Take Part In Activities - During the start of the academic year, you would see loads of meeting and orientations happening. Make sure to attend all, even if you are not interested in, maybe you’ll learn something new or meet someone new.

3. Invest during The Weekends - If you are a day boarder, don’t get tempted of packing your bags every weekend to go home. Spend some time with your roommates and invest in some activity or learn more about ACET.

4. Be Adventurous - College is the time when you can explore the real you. Since you are not burdened with exams and test all year round, therefore try and find out what interests you most by experimenting new things

5. Learn to Be Professional - College is the time where you get prepared to enter the corporate sector, and one of the biggest skills you ought to matter is to be Professional and Courteous. This is only possible when you socialize with new people and indulge in something which is out of your comfort zone.

6. Asking For Help Is Not Bad - This is the time when all your mistakes will be forgiven therefore, try it yourself first and if not sure ask for help. There are lots of seniors and teachers who would be willing to help you; all you have to do is ask!

7. Build On Your Finances - College life is a great way to give your career a little start. You might feel that working as a freelancer does not add anything to your CV, but believe us; it gives you that much needed confidence and a reason to spend lavishly on yourself and your learning and growth.
